TH 101 The
Question of GOD An introductory course in Theology covering the
historical evidence of God through faith, logic, the evidence of the
senses and intuition. Required
Core Curriculum Course. TH 102 Old
Testament Theology A continuation of the development of the existence of
God through the evidence provided in the Old Testament and the early
Jewish Church. TH 103 Liturgical
Calendar The requirements for worship services will be studied on
the basis of the history and development of the Liturgical Calendar. TH 104 Liturgical
Art and Music The requirements for worship services will be studied on
the basis of the history and development of both music and art within
the Christian Church. TH 105 Ministry
with Children The special requirements of bringing the word of God to
children and working with children who have spiritual needs and concerns
will be covered in detail. TH 106 Ministry
in the Multicultural Neighborhood The special needs of the multicultural neighborhood will
be studied with respect to the needs of the individual, small groups and
the neighborhood. TH 111 Messianic
Prophesies An in-depth analysis of the Old Testament prophesies
regarding the Messiah and New Testament confirmations of those
prophesies. TH 112 Ministry A detailed analysis of the ministry and the duties of a
minister or priest from a theological, psychological, metaphysical and
philosophical viewpoint. TH 113 Priestly
Duties The duties of the priest and servant of God will be
outlined and discussed from a number of different viewpoints including
Orthodox Christianity, Protestantism, and Independent Catholicism. TH 114 Pastoral
Orientation An orientation into the priest as pastor of a community
of believers and the duties of the priest as regards that community. TH 115 Divine
Revelation The problem of ascertaining the difference between
divine revelation and the written word of mortal man is analyzed through
the study of these two different types of scripture.
TH 116 The
Nuclear Family The unique problems of the so-called nuclear family will
be probed in depth to lay a foundation for the priest in working with
members of these families. TH 117 Woman's
Ministry The emerging woman in American society offers the
priesthood an opportunity to practice the principles of Christianity in
their own lives. In this
course these principles and their attendant problems will be examined. TH 201 Pastoral
Care An introductory course outlining the counseling duties
of a minister or priest pertaining to birth, childhood, learning
disorders, adolescence, young adulthood, marriage, alcohol and drug or
substance abuse, family problems, child or spouse abuse, depression,
suicide and suicidal attempts, criminal activities, temporary or
terminal illness, middle age, old age, senility, and death. TH 202 Homiletics
I The techniques of speech writing and presenting will be
studied from videos, films and written materials or demonstrated and
modeled by practicing ministers and priests. TH 203 New
Testament Doctrine I Doctrine based on the New Testament varies from sect to
sect. These variations will be sought out and examined in detail in
this course. TH 204 Spiritual
Counseling This course is an overview of the needs of the spiritual
mind and body in relation to different counseling styles and
philosophies. TH 220 Practicum
in the Priesthood The student will choose a mentor with whom they will
learn the day to day activities of the priesthood within their chosen
path. TH 221 Independent
Study in Exposition
The student will choose a topic for exposition with the approval
of the Department and proceed to complete the project. TH 222 Independent
Study in Preaching
The
student will choose a topic for development and prepare and present one
or more sermons under the supervision of the Department.
TH 223 Independent
Study in Sacred Theology
The
student will choose of theological topic for independent study and
propose and complete a project acceptable to the Department
TH 301 Pastoral
Counseling I Students will learn basic counseling techniques for
working with various problems which will be presented to them in their
priesthood. TH 302 Homiletics
II Students will learn basic speech writing and presenting
techniques and give one speech per week according to prescribed
guidelines. TH 303 New
Testament Doctrine II The Doctrines of the Holy Roman Catholic Church are
studied and compared to the doctrines established by both eastern and
western religious institutions. TH 304 Christian
Mysticism Students will study several papers written by Christian
Mystics and compare these with the New Testament writings. TH 305 Spiritual
Healing The practice and history of faith healing and modern
medical practices around the world will be compared to spiritual
healing. TH 306 Philosophy
of Religion The philosophy of religion will be examined using a
number of current texts and crossing several different disciplines. Emphasis will be placed on
Pythagoras, Philos and other Greek philosophers during the first
centuries BCE. TH 307 The
Spiritual World I The spiritual world as a part of the physical world is
discussed versus the physical world as a part of the spiritual world. The differences between the
physical, mental, emotional, psychic and spiritual worlds are analyzed. TH 308 Doctrine
and Dogma Doctrine and dogma are both defined from the
perspectives of Eastern, Western and Shamanistic religious viewpoints
and then analyzed in depth. TH 309 Hermeneutics This course will cover the interpretation of Holy
Writings using the principles of exegesis. TH 320 Practicum
in the Priesthood Students will choose a mentor with whom they will learn
the day to day activities of the priesthood within their chosen path. TH 321 Independent
Study in Exposition

to Thesis Writing This course is required of all Master Degree Candidates
prior to choosing a Thesis topic and all Doctoral Candidates who have
not previously written a thesis. TH 390 Thesis
in Sacred Theology This paper must be approved by the faculty and written
according to the guidelines established by the Department. TH 401 Pastoral
Counseling II A continuation of Pastoral Counseling I which includes
practical experience working with parishioners under the supervision of
a practicing priest.
TH 402 Homiletics
III Students will learn intermediate speech writing and
presenting techniques and give one speech per week according to
prescribed guidelines. TH 403 Liturgical
Studies I The liturgy of a chosen denomination will be compared to
several other denominations to ascertain both similarities and
differences. TH 404 Addiction
Counseling The student will counsel clients who admit to having an
addiction to alcohol, drugs, food, glue, other people, sex, sugar or
work. TH 405 Ethics
I The student will learn the standards of conduct and
moral judgment from the viewpoint of a number of philosophers,
theologians and religious movements. TH 406 Homiletics
Practicum I Students will practice speech writing and presenting
under the supervision of a mentor. TH 407 The
Spiritual World II The student will continue studies commenced in The
Spiritual World I and apply them to his/her everyday life and
profession. TH 408 Esoteric
Christianity The student will learn the differences between the
esoteric Christian and the esoteric practitioner in other religious
environments. TH 409 The
Christian Sacraments A comprehensive examination of baptism, confirmation,
marriage, Holy Eucharist, confession, burial of the dead, healing or
unction and holy orders as they are practiced by a variety of Christian
faiths. TH 450 Practicum
in the Episcopate The student will learn the day to day activities of a
bishop or comparable position within the faith of the student's choice
by studying under the supervision of a bishop or comparable member of
the episcopate. TH 470 Introduction to
Research This course is required of all Doctoral Candidates prior
to selecting a research project TH 501 Pastoral
Counseling III The student will continue learning counseling techniques
in the field working with various populations including the terminally
ill, homeless, feeble old aged and mentally ill. TH 502 Homiletics
IV The student will publish an acceptable paper regarding
some subtopic of sermon writing and presentation or complete sermon. TH 503 Liturgical
Studies II The liturgy of a non-Christian denomination will be
compared to several other denominations to ascertain both similarities
and differences. TH 504 The
Christian Liturgy The student will write their own services for a number
of situations and sacraments using various services of several Christian
denominations. TH 505 Ethics
II The student will compare the standards of conduct and
moral judgment from the viewpoint of a number of philosophers as they
might relate to the three major religious movements within the eastern,
western and pagan traditions. TH 506 Homiletics
Practicum II An advanced project more comprehensive than those
undertaken in Homiletics Practicum I. TH 507 Exorcism,
Spirits and Ghosts The student will learn the similarities and differences
between disincarnate spirits and ghosts, demons and angels, elementals
and devas and the practice of removing these entities from the human
aura. TH 580 Research
and Publication Required of all Doctoral Candidates prior to selecting a
topic and writing their dissertation. TH 590 Dissertation An
original publication done under the supervision of the faculty.
